My pastor and the elder board (which I am currently a part of) has been talking an awful lot about the idea of being missional and what that strange word really means. It’s kind of a new idea, and a rather intimidating one if you were raised in a traditional church like I was. There are many different thoughts as to what the definition of missional really is, but there is one thing that most people can all agree on. Missional must involve you getting out of the church and into the world. That is one thing that God pretty much said as clear as clear can be;

Mathew 28:18-20
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Well that seems simple enough right? We just need to go somewhere else than church right? Well, I like to think that there is a little more to it. I think God has made us all different with different talents and passions. We all have our own different niches. It is for this reason i think that we are all called to our on little mission fields. This is another idea that our elder board has been throwing around, but I don’t think that it has ever really been talked about at length. This is what i plan on doing this Sunday.

Sunday July 24, 2010 is my turn at the pulpit again. We will be on our way to finding our mission field.

There are some things that I have regrets about. Things that I did/didn’t do in high school, people I should have talked more with when I had the chance, staying a little longer with a friend that needed me, I could keep going but I really don’t have the time. But the one thing that is really bugging me the most right now is the fact that I no longer have any of my blog posts from when I was blogging on a more consistent basis.

My website used to be full of ideas and interesting stories, now it is bare. There are virtually no comments or interaction. I let this site crumble. This is my regret. I suppose I could use the Wayback Machine and copy and paste some of my old articles, but that would be a mere shadow of what it once was. Those posts had life and meaning when they were first written, to re-post them would be an insult to them. I am not saying they were great posts (a lot of them were horrible) I am saying they had their time. It is time for me to put that behind me. It is time to move on.
